Ahhh, Ganache..

Thanks to Hilary for passing on the recipe that tastes as delicious as it looks. And thanks to Mindika for providing the recipe. It was fun and easy. My only regret is I didn't get it cooled and ganached before B had to leave for meetings tonight. He'll have a chocolate treat when he gets home.

Frosty Day

I thought I had somehow dropped all these photos from my camera but was glad they showed up. We have had frost and fog everyday for over a week. These were taken Thursday, Feb 4, 2010 because that day the frost was particularly heavy and the light seemed good. Not prize winning photos by any means,but they do capture some of the beauty of the days we've had. Now, to wait and see if we have a ton of rain in May ( 90 days after fog).

It's Done!!....mostly

So here is what we have done to our new ensuite.
It took alot of time- way more than I thought- and I thought at least 2 or 3 weekends- it took 4. If you look too closely you'll see that there are still some finishing touches to do but the sink and toilette work, the floor is down,the cupboard is built, tile is up and grouted, the TP holder is in, and the mouldings are on. I'm really happy with the results. It turned out just as I had it pictured in my mind. Things left to do are touch up the paint, fill holes,sand and paint the moldings (2nd coat), fix a little grout that had an issue and decide on a finish on the right hand side wall by the moldings and the tile. We had it done one way and I really didn't like it. Now I'm not sure what to do, so will consult with my decorationistas and see what they think. Ive had the towels and rug since Feb and April 2008! No sense in rushing into these things, eh?
